02The artist
Jeremy drawing a design by lamplight
Jeremy · Comme des Dessins
At work, Montréal

I tattoo the way I draw: by hand, patiently, one person at a time.

Focus

Black and grey, built from fine, deliberate line. Botanicals, animals and figures pulled from myth, carried with the weight and softness of a real drawing rather than a stencil.

Vision

A tattoo should feel personal and permanent: a drawing made for one person alone that still looks intentional in twenty years. I would rather make fewer pieces, and make them properly.

Craft

Every design is drawn by hand and finished the day we tattoo, with your input. Precision, restraint, and an obsession with how ink settles and ages in the skin.

The process

Four steps between an idea and a tattoo you keep for life.

Enquire

Describe your idea, the placement, and the rough size. Send reference images for mood and subject (never other artists' tattoos), plus a clear photo of the area. We confirm the project is a good fit before any date or deposit.

Design day

The final design is drawn the day of your appointment, with your input during the process. The first hour is discussion and sketching, included in your session. Nothing is traced from a stencil bank; it's drawn for you, once.

The tattoo

Sessions start at the agreed time. Sleep well, eat beforehand, stay hydrated, and avoid alcohol for 48 hours. Shave the area, wear comfortable clothing, then we take our time. Precision over speed. Always.

The healing

Second Skin stays on for five days. Fragrance-free soap for three weeks, a thin layer of moisturizer on dry skin, no sun and no swimming. The drawing settles into the skin, and then it's yours for good.

Describe your tattoo idea in detail and include the placement you'd like. Send reference images that capture the mood, subject or details you want, plus a clear photo of the area to be tattooed. We don't use or copy other artists' tattoos as references. We'll confirm the project is a good fit for Jeremy before discussing dates or deposits.

The final design is created on the day of your appointment, with your input during the process. Expect about 1 hour for discussion and sketching at the start of your session; that time is included in your booking.

A $300 deposit (CAD) is applied to your final session and is non-refundable. You can reschedule once with at least 3 days' notice without losing it; with less than 7 days' notice, a new deposit is required to re-book. Card payments have a 3% fee. By paying your deposit you agree to the full studio policy.

Avoid alcohol for at least 48 hours before your appointment. Get good rest, eat beforehand and stay hydrated. Carefully shave the area to be tattooed before coming in, and wear comfortable, accessible clothing. Sessions start at the agreed time. If you're running late, call or email the studio; arriving 30 minutes late without notice may cancel the session and forfeit the deposit.

  1. Avoid the sun and any swimming for at least 3 weeks.
  2. Keep the Second Skin on for 5 days. Avoid sweat, heat and sun.
  3. After 5 days, remove it (in the shower if the pain is intense). Wash your tattoo with clean hands, patting it dry.
  4. Wash the tattoo with the same fragrance-free soap (Dove Moisturizing Fragrance-Free) for 3 weeks.
  5. Moisturize only with Glaxxal Base, or a fragrance-free cream, shea butter, or vitamin A & E. Apply a thin layer when the skin is dry.
  6. Wash and moisturize the tattoo for 3 weeks after removing the Second Skin.

Thank you very much, looking forward to seeing you again :)
