Botanicals are drawn from life and from old plates, then redrawn for the exact curve of an arm, a hip or a ribcage. Peonies, chrysanthemums and irises are the usual language; the composition is always new. Stems are used to carry a piece around the limb rather than sitting flat on it.
A single flower takes one session; a sleeve of them is planned as a whole and built over several.
