This page is written to be read, not scrolled past. It says who runs this site, what information we handle, why, and what you can ask of us. It follows Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).

Who we are
Comme des Dessins is a tattoo practice in Montréal, Québec, est. 2018, working by appointment in a private space. The person responsible for the protection of personal information is the owner of Comme des Dessins, reachable at commedesdessins@gmail.com. There is no phone line; email is the way to reach us.

What we collect, and why
- Booking requests. The form runs on bkt-app, a booking service. It asks for your name, email, the idea, placement and size, reference images and a photo of the area. We use it to judge whether the project is a good fit, to plan the design and to book the session. bkt-app stores the form on its own servers under its own privacy policy.
- Email. Whatever you write to commedesdessins@gmail.com stays in that mailbox for as long as the conversation and the project need it.
- Meta pixel. The site loads the Meta (Facebook and Instagram) pixel. It records the pages you view and whether you click through to the booking form, and Meta sets its own cookies. We use it for one thing: to see whether our Instagram posts and ads lead to booking requests. Meta's own privacy policy applies to what it keeps.
- Instagram feed. The home page shows our latest posts through Behold, a feed service. Your browser fetches the post data directly; no information about you is sent beyond the ordinary technical details of any web request.
- Hosting logs. The site is hosted by Netlify. Like every host, it keeps short-lived technical logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security and to keep the site running.
- Your browser's storage. We keep two small things on your device only: your language choice and a cached copy of the Instagram feed. None of it leaves your device, and clearing your browser data removes it.
We do not sell information, we do not run newsletters, and no payment data passes through this site. Payment happens in person at the end of each session.

Where it goes, how long it stays
The services above (bkt-app, Meta, Behold, Netlify) may store data outside Québec, mostly in the United States, under their own policies. We share your information with no one else.
Booking details are kept for the life of the project and as long as tax and accounting rules require. Photos of the area to be tattooed are deleted once the design is done. You can ask us to delete anything sooner, within what the law allows.

Your rights
- Ask what information we hold about you, and get a copy.
- Have it corrected if it is wrong.
- Opt out of Meta's tracking: block third-party cookies in your browser, use a content blocker, or adjust your ad settings in your Facebook or Instagram account.
- Ask us to delete your information.
- Complain to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec if you believe we handled your information badly.
Every request goes to commedesdessins@gmail.com. We answer within 30 days.

Booking policies
- Deposit. $300 CAD secures your appointment and is applied to the final session. It is non-refundable.
- Rescheduling. You can reschedule twice with at least 3 days' notice without losing your deposit.
- Lateness. Sessions start at the agreed time. Arriving 30 minutes late without notice may cancel the session and forfeit the deposit. Running late? Email commedesdessins@gmail.com.
- Payment. Due at the end of each session, cash or card. Card payments carry a 3% fee.
- Design. The final drawing is made the day of your appointment, with your input. Drawings stay the property of Comme des Dessins and are not sent out in advance.
